Unpredictable Irish Team Beats West Indies by 4 Wickets

First Upset of 2015 World Cup

Ireland easily beats West Indies by 4 wickets. This is one of the biggest upset of 2015 World Cup. West Indies gave a decent target of 304 runs, which was successfully chased by Irish players in 45th over.  LPM Simmons scored a century from West Indies. In reply, Irish team started well with 71 runs opening stand. For second wicket, Stirling and Joyce added 106 runs. EC Joyce and O’Brien crucial partnership of 96 runs was the turning point of this match. Ireland maintains the run rate of 6+ in their entire innings.  They easily chased 304 runs by sparing 25 balls. This is an alarming bell for all the teams especially Pakistan who lost by Ireland in 2007 World Cup.

It is the 5th time in World Cups when any team successfully chased down 300+ runs. Surprisingly, Ireland has appeared for the 3rd time in 300+ successful chase list. In 2011, they chased 329 against England. In the same 2011 World Cup, they chased 307 against Netherland. Today for the third time they successfully chased 307 against West Indies.
